Pbads derives from the name Pukhraj Singh Badial. 

Pukhraj is 19 years old, raised in the small city on the south side of Burnaby, British Columbia, where his parents settled after gaining permanent residency in Canada with the assistance of his mother’s older brother, 25 years prior his birth. In Pukhraj’s culture the relationship specifically between an older brother and a younger sister is the inviolable to be brief, so ultimately their two families can be often mistaken as a singular unit, which is a blessing. Rather than having only one older sister, he had an additional two older brothers and an older sister, along with another set of parental figures in his aunt and uncle. The smallest age difference between Pukhraj’s siblings and himself is seven years, his older sister and one of his male cousins were both born in the same year, just 10 days apart. Pukhraj had it lucky, being nurtured and taught in the on going’s of the real world by all of his siblings, who in themselves had to maneuver with little help and guidance. 

Pukhraj looks up most to his 2 older brothers, and through them he was first introduced to “hip-hop and R&B,” and immediately grew in love with the words poets sang, along with the wavy beats that would fixate constantly in his mind. Pukhraj’s keen liking to music would later develop into creating poetry, as well as playing instruments, such as the saxophone. Pukhraj continues to allow himself to grow musically every single day and through the music, he wishes to create something that anyone can relate to, dance to, or sing to.
